How Do Search Engines Rank Websites?
Search engines don't actually rank websites, but rather web pages. This is because when you enter keywords, they rank the most relevant page for that keyword first, and others in a specific order below it. Their aim in doing this is to ensure that readers reach the correct information in the shortest possible way. When search engines rank pages, they primarily look at the content of the page, the links from other websites to that page, and how frequently the page is updated. There is no very clear formula for this process, as large search engines like Google do not provide very clear information on this matter. Finding out what determines the ranking and ensuring the success of websites becomes the task of webmasters, those who deal with search engine optimization, and people who build websites.
