What You Don't Know About Optimization

If you want your web pages to rank high in search engine results, it will be beneficial to consider the tips in this article.

  • Never use invisible text on your web pages: You may deceive site visitors by preparing the text on your web pages in the same color as the background, but you cannot deceive search engines. Another version of this is to make the text too small to be read with the naked eye. You should avoid doing this.
  • Don't hide text: Search engines can distinguish CSS, font size, and background colors. They can also distinguish texts of 1px size. Search engines can read text that you hide from site visitors and may ban your web page.
  • Don't create doorway pages: Doorway pages are simple HTML pages written to intensely optimize one or two keywords or keyword phrases. The purpose of this is to allow search engine spiders to see these words before being transferred to the main website, but it can lead to your site being banned.
  • Don't create different content specifically for search engine spiders: The content you show to site visitors should not be different from the content you show to search engine spiders. This process, called "cloaking", is an effort that search engines do not like. While this process may generate a lot of interest at first, search engines do not like it and may ban your site.
  • Don't cloak your website: Search engines want to provide internet users with information that has a genuine source. They do not value information that will produce artificial results and is only intended to be found by search engines. If your website is found to be cloaking, it will be removed from search engine listings.
