Advantages and Disadvantages of Underfloor Heating Systems

What is Underfloor Heating System?

Underfloor heating, which has become widespread in recent years, is a system based on heating the indoor space from the floor.

Disadvantages of Underfloor Heating System

The underfloor heating system is a more advantageous heating system than other heating systems in many ways. As the name suggests, this application, which distributes heat to the space from the floor, provides better and higher quality heating than radiator heating systems. Air circulation is very good; while hot air is distributed evenly everywhere in underfloor heating, in radiator systems it is located next to the radiator and in the area close to the ceiling. The air in the space does not dry out with the underfloor heating system. It provides significant energy savings as it operates at low temperatures (45-50 degrees Celsius). Its most important advantage is that the pipes that provide heating pass through the floor and are not visible. Heating pipes, which are a significant problem in terms of decoration, cease to be a problem in this system. While the space in front of the radiator remains empty in radiator systems, furniture can be positioned as desired in this system. The underfloor heating system is an economical type of heating that can be applied to any suitable space. The most important disadvantage of this system, which provides more comfortable heating than radiator systems, is that periodic maintenance needs to be done frequently. It is not possible to heat the space instantly as it operates at low temperatures. Once the system reaches the required heat, it heats the space to a level that can be described as perfect.
