However, questions like how should we use it, how should we keep up with fashion, still bother us. So, are you curious about the history of the tie, which is such an important accessory for us men? The word "tie" comes from the French "cravate", meaning Croatian, "croates" or "cravates". The tie first appeared on the historical stage during the famous Thirty Years' War in Europe. In 1635, a group of soldiers among the approximately 160,000 legionaries and knights fighting for the French King Louis XIII fought with the peculiar scarves they wore around their necks. The basis of this trend actually stems from the way Croatian soldiers' wives and families tied scarves taken from their heads in a peculiar way to their loved ones' necks when they parted.

How Should the Choice Be Made According to Style?

After a brief look at the history of the tie, we want to give you some information about tie choices. As you know, fashion progresses and changes rapidly. You wake up one morning, you have to go to work, but you can't decide which tie to wear with the plain shirt you're wearing under your suit. Don't panic, fashion designers say that with plain shirt choices, you can use solid colors along with patterned ties. For example, if you prefer a white shirt, you can comfortably use all shades of gray and black. If your shirt has a shiny fabric, it is also useful to note that your tie should be more matte. If you decide to wear a striped shirt, you should pay attention to your tie also being striped. However, the stripes on your tie should not be the same size as the stripes on your shirt, and the tie you choose should be one shade darker than your shirt. Also, when choosing a tie, you should ensure that at least one color matches your suit, shirt, belt, or shoes. You might like wearing striped shirts. However, your suit, shirt, and tie should not all be striped. If you prefer a shirt with small squares, you should wear ties with small patterns. Remember, the patterns on your shirt and tie should not be the same size.
