Facebook, as the most used social network worldwide, holds serious income potential. For this reason, developers are focusing on games for Facebook. Facebook announced the figures for its existing game market at the Game Developers Conference.

Facebook Game Market Announced at Game Developers Conference

At the conference, Facebook's game applications were discussed, and figures were shared. For the first time, Facebook saw its highest player count in 2010. In 2010, Facebook had 500 million members. Active game users constituted half of this number. Although the number of members is higher than in 2010, the number of active players still stands at 250 million. While the game market as a whole is an $18 billion pie, Facebook alone represents a $3 billion slice of this pie. The money paid to developers for games developed for Facebook reaches $2 billion.
