Occupational safety specialization has quickly become a field that attracts great interest from those who want to create a new career opportunity and those who want to work in this sector.
In accordance with the new laws enacted to add another step to Turkey's development and to maximize occupational safety levels, every workplace employing more than fifty workers is now required to have an occupational safety specialist. While this is an important step for worker health, it has also opened up a new employment area. Following Law No. 6331 on "Occupational Health and Safety", enacted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, which reorganizes working life, occupational safety specialization has become one of the most prominent professions. With these latest regulations, all workplaces, even multi-unit apartment buildings and complexes, have been mandated to have an occupational safety specialist. Consequently, there has been a significant shortage of employees in the field of occupational safety. This means a new job field and employment for young people. Since the relevant occupational safety law came into effect, approximately 450 intermediary institutions have been established across Turkey to train doctors, engineers, and occupational safety specialists for workplaces. This indicates that occupational safety specialization is a profession with a bright future. For this, a formal application to occupational safety is required through a special petition to these training institutions.
